Arizona Soccer Club Competitive

ACADEMY AND THUNDER SOCCER PROGRAM (AGES 5 THROUGH 18)

The Academy program is for boys and girls, ages 5-10 looking to begin their soccer career in a holistic, fun environment. This program is run by licensed coaches with experience at both the high school, college, and professional level.

Thunder Program is for boys and girls, ages 11 to 18 searching to continue their soccer experience at the highest level possible.  Most of the players that compete in this program have either come through the Academy Program or have joined our club, at a later age, looking for more opportunities to develop their soccer dreams than what they currently have.

The Academy and Thunder program are guided by age appropriate teaching objectives.  Demands placed upon the players are progressive in nature and focus on the development of the four components of the game (technical, tactical, psychological and physical).  Training sessions will be creative, dynamic and enjoyable and will range in emphasis based on the needs of the individual and team.  We utilize a proven developmental program that challenges every player and team on a consistent basis but yet fosters self-esteem which builds more confidence and success.  This model allows all players to play at the highest level possible based on given skills and ability.

Tryouts

Tryouts for the Thunder Program will be held in May each year. Our Thunder and Academy are in two locations: Gilbert and Queen Creek.

Teams are formed within every age group, based on the skill and ability level of the player.  The process used for team formations will be explained at the parent meeting during tryouts. Each player will be given a brief player evaluation along with an offer for a team. This is unique in that no other club in the state offers this!

It is encouraged that all players interested in a tryout for the Thunder Program register for tryouts.

Tryouts are $10 for every age group and includes a t-shirt.

Team Training

Exact training days and times are still being finalized and will be announced shortly, but are three days per week.

Training Facilities

All teams will train at the same location, on designated days.  In Gilbert, we train at Discovery Park (Fall) and Crossroads Park (Winter / Spring). In Queen Creek, we train at Desert Mountain Park.

Games and Events

Each team will play a developmentally appropriate league (POSL or State League) and event schedule.  This schedule will be determined by the Arizona State Youth Soccer Association.
