Summer Skills

Our coaches will be delivering Summer Skills session this Summer as part of AZSC's Pre Season Tune Up.

Our coaches attended the  Coerver Youth Module 2 (their highest award) and will now bring what they have learned from this course, and delivering it during the summer months.

This will form an integral part of AZSC's soccer training from now on.

Not only will there be stand alone training session during the summer months, but they will also be part of the warm ups and technical sessions during our regular season.

This will help prepare players for the rigors of playing at the next level, providing them with the technique required to handle the ball in the modern game, and not leave them behind the curve as do so many clubs that put physique and athleticism above technique, touch and ball control.

The sessions will be delivered over a 5 week period.

Dates:

Week 1 Monday June 11th, Wednesday June 13th.

Week 2 Monday June 18th, Wednesday June 20th.

Coerver Coaching History

In the late 1970s, Dutch European Championship winning coach Wiel Coerver led a revolution in soccer coaching. He was dissatisfied with the lack of individual skills and the emphasis on defensive play in the professional game.

Coerver’s early focus was on teaching ball mastery and 1 v 1 skills by encouraging players to emulate the “moves” of soccer’s all-time greats, such as Sir Stanley Matthews, Cryuff, Beckenbauer and Pele.

Alfred Galustian and Charlie Cooke founded what is now known around the world as Coerver® Coaching,
