U12 Rules
AZSC U12's follow FIFA Laws with the following modifications:
- Team Size - (11-16)
- Field Size - 50 x 100 yards
- Game Size - 11 v 11 (Includes Goalie)
- Length of game - Two 30 minute halves
- Half Start Procedure -
- Half 1: Coin flip winner kicks-off
- Half 2: Opposite team kicks-off
- Length of half time - 5 minutes
- Ball Size - 4
- Goal Size - 8' x 24'
- Players must play at least half of each game
- Players must wear assigned uniform
- No jewelry or hats allowed during play
- Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
- No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
- Referees check equipment before game
- Substitution allowed: (All substitutions must enter the field of play at the center line)
- Between halves
- After a goal is scored by either team
- After an injury on either team
- Own teams throw in
- Either teams Goal Kick
- Coaches and Assistant coaches remain in the technical area or "coaches box" provided. Coaches and Assistant coaches will not enter the field of play unless the referee directs the coach or assistant to enter (example: injury). Coaches and Assistant coaches who continuously leave the technical area or "coaches box" during match play may be cautioned and/or removed from the field. Coaches that receive a suspension will not be allowed to return until reinstated by one of the league directors.
- Parents/fans must stay 5 ft away from field during play
- No slide tackles
- Direct and Indirect Free Kicks may be awarded to a team upon the referees discretion, all referees calls are final
- Direct Free Kicks – Trips, kicks, hits, pushes, holds an opponent or touches the ball with his/her hands/arms
- Indirect Free Kicks – Offsides, any unsafe play, delay of game by goalie or charging a goalie, obstruction
- Penalty Kicks: Committing violation under Direct Free Kicks in the penalty area
- Referees may issue yellow or red cards upon their discretion for un-sportsmanlike conduct resulting in suspension. Players that receive a suspension will not be allowed to play until reinstated by one of the league directors
