For Coaches
You volunteered to coach a youth soccer team. You are busy at work. You have little time to do anything for yourself after work, much less on the weekends. But you do it anyways. You are not sure you know what you're doing or what your going to teach the kids. Heck, its been years since you played soccer. Don't worry. Once you begin working with the kids and teaching them the basics, kicking, passing, shooting, it will all come back.
The joy of coaching is taking a bunch of children, teaching them something new, and watching them get better. All the while they begin to believe in themselves and gain self-esteem. Believe me, it sure is satisfying to watch the children progress. Eddie and Jason's first team lost every game and only scored two goals. By their third season of coaching, you could see a remarkable improvement in each child's game. They were learning and we were helping them! That is what makes it all worth it.
The Arizona Soccer Club needs committed volunteers to coach children of all age levels. We ask that each volunteer coach is able to hold practice at least 1 to 2 times per week for at least 1 hour. We hope to provide an opportunity for coach volunteers to learn as much as the children that they coach. We offer online coaching links where coaches can get new ideas about drills, tips and techniques to enhance their practice sessions. We will coordinate with local, state and national soccer organizations to provide opportunities for our coaches to have access to coaching certification classes.
