Rules & Specs by Age Group

U4 RULES
Under 4 years old

  • Team Size - (4-6)
  • Field Size - 30 x 20 yards
  • Game Size - 3 v 3, no goalie.
  • Length of game - Four 6 minute quarters with a running clock
  • Quarter Start Procedure - Alternating team kick-off each quarter
  • Length of half time/quarters - 3 minutes
  • Ball Size - 3
  • Goal Size - 4’ x 6’
  • Players must play in both halves of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniforms
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • No toe cleats. (ex: anything that has a single toe cleat in the front)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • Open substitution allowed
  • One Coach from each team is allowed on the field during play to guide the players
  • No offside penalties
  • No slide tackles


U5 RULES
Under 5 years old

  • Team Size - (6-8)
  • Field Size - 40 x 25 yards
  • Game Size - 4 v 4 (Includes Goalie)
  • Length of game - Four 8 minute quarters with a running clock
  • Quarter Start Procedure - Alternating team kick-off each quarter
  • Length of half time/quarters - 3 minutes

  • Goal Size - 4’ x 9’
  • Players must play in both halves of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • Referee check equipment before game
  • Substitutions allowed between quarters and after a goal is scored by either team.
  • One Coach from each team is allowed on the field during play to guide the players
  • One Assistant Coach is allowed behind the goal to guide the defensive players
  • No other adult from either team is allowed on the field or behind the goal
  • Parents/fans must stay 5 ft away from field during play
  • No offside penalties
  • No slide tackles
  • No penalty kicks
  • No direct free kicks
  • Indirect Free Kicks – Any unsafe play, charging a goalie, etc   
  • Possession of the ball by the goal keeper is defined by the keeper physically touching the ball with any part of the body other than the feet.    


U6 RULES

  • Goal Size - 4’ x 9’
  • Players must play in both halves of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times

  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Substitutions allowed between quarters and after a goal is scored by either team.
  • One Coach or Assistant coach from each team will be allowed on the field during weeks 1, 2, and 3 of each season. Starting week 4 of each season no Coach or Assistant Coach will be allowed on the field during match play.
  • No Coach, Assistant Coach, Parent, or fan is allowed behind the goals.
  • Parents/fans must stay 5 ft away from field during play
  • No offside penalties
  • No slide tackles
  • No penalty kicks
  • No direct free kicks
  • Indirect Free Kicks Any unsafe play, charging a goalie, etc

  • Length of game - Game consist of (2) 20-minute halves
  • Half Start Procedure - Alternating team kick-off each half
  • Away team kicks off to begin game
  • Length of half time - 5 minutes
  • Ball Size-3
  • Goal Size - 6 x 9 or 6 x 12
  • All players must play an equal amount of time each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • No toe cleats, (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • No Coach, Assistant Coach allowed on the field
  • No Coach, Assistant Coach, Parent, or fan is allowed behind the goals
  • Parents/fans must stay 5 ft away from field during play
  • Substitution allowed: (All substitutions must enter the field of play at the center line)
    1. Between halves
    2. After a goal is scored by either team
    3. After an injury on either team
    4. Own team’s throw in
    5. Either team’s goal kick
  • No slide tackles
  • No penalty kicks
  • No direct free kicks
  • All fouls are an indirect kick - Any unsafe play, charging a goalie, etc Possession of the ball by the goal keeper is defined by the keeper physically touching the ball with any part of the body other than the feet

Coaches and Assistant Coaches will not enter the field of play unless the referee directs the coach or assistant to enter (example: injury). Coaches and Assistant Coaches who continuously leave the technical area or provided "coaches box" during match play may be cautioned and/or removed from the field. Coaches that receive a suspension will not be allowed to return until reinstated by one of the league directors.
  • No standings are kept
  • Throw in. On an improper throwing in the referee will allow one re-throw after a brief correction explanation from the referee


U9 and U10 RULES
Under 9 and under 10 years old

  • Team Size - (10-12)
  • Field Size - 60 x 40 yards
  • Game Size - 8 v 8 (Includes Goalie)
  • Length of game Two 25 minute halves
  • Half Start Procedure -
    • Half 1: Coin flip winner kicks-off
    • Half 2: Opposite team kicks-off
  • Coin toss determines which team kicks off first
  • Length of half time/quarters 5 minutes
  • Ball Size – 4
  • Goal Size – 6x18
  • Players must play in both halves of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Substitution allowed: (All substitutions must enter the field of play at the center line)
    • Between halves
    • After a goal is scored by either team

  • Indirect Free Kicks: Offsides, any unsafe play, delay of game by goalie or charging a goalie, obstruction
  • Penalty Kicks: Committing violation under Direct Free Kicks in the penalty area
    • A player commits an offside offense by both (1) being in an offside position and (2) being involved in active play "at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team."
  • Referees may issue yellow or red cards upon their discretion for un-sportsmanlike conduct resulting in suspension. Players that receive a suspension will not be allowed to play until reinstated by one of the league directors


U11 RULES
Under 11 years old

  • Team Size - (10-12)
  • Minimum number of players - 7
  • Field Size - 50 x 75 yards
  • Game Size - 8 v 8 (Includes Goalie)
  • Length of game - Two 30 minute halves
  • Half Start Procedure -
    • Half 1: Coin flip winner kicks-off
    • Half 2: Opposite team kicks-off
  • Length of half time - 5 minutes
  • Ball Size - 4
  • Goal Size - 7’ x 21’
  • Players must play at least half of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play
  • Shin guards must be worn (under socks) at all times
  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • Referees will check both teams and their equipment before game, utilizing the match card with players names
  • Substitution allowed: (All substitutions must enter the field of play at the center line)
    1. Between halves

U12 - U14 RULES
Under 12 - under 14 years old

    • Game Size - 11 v 11 (Includes Goalie)
    • Length of game - Two 35 minute halves
  • Half Start Procedure -
    • Half 1: Coin flip winner kicks-off
    • Half 2: Opposite team kicks-off
  • Length of half time - 5 minutes
  • Ball Size - 5
  • Goal Size - 8 yards wide by 8 feet in height
  • Players must play at least half of each game
  • Players must wear assigned uniform
  • No jewelry or hats allowed during play

  • No toe cleats. (ex: baseball cleats)
  • No slide tackles
